I understand wanting go after the media, but the real culprit in all of this is academia. Scrutiny of Arday should have come from his research supervisors, peer reviewers, and hiring/promotion committees. Not the national media. Systemic failure top to bottom.

Elite capture is not a well written book. I found it really disappointing given that it's thesis is, in my view, is correct.

This by @jaseokundaye.bsky.social is great, but I do think it is also avoiding a difficult discussion. Why was it left to Cofnas to bring this story to light? If someone, say a colleague at Cambridge, had raised concerns in good faith when Arday was appointed- how would that have been received?
