took a risk today during an autism training I was sitting there thinking "oh god I can't endure one more session of hearing myself explained by a non-autistic" so I shared that I am, in fact, autistic and offered to help with questions and terminology and... they were so pleased! and thanked me!

in my experience this is the most effective approach folks forget that writing, at its core, is a form of imaginative play, and we cannot teach creativity what we can do is build confidence, which allows writers to trust themselves more and take the creative risks that produce really good writing

Here's why THAT works. Go in THAT direction." Challenge in getting feedback is that it can cause us to focus so hard on what's wrong we stop seeing what's right

You need to ask marginalized southerners why they don't leave. And you will find they don't leave because they have deep love for it & sense of home. That's worth enduring phenomenal oppression to them. Talk to them about what they love about their home, & join their fight to be safe there.
