So far from God, so close to the United States (¡Tan lejos de Dios y tan cerca de los Estados Unidos!) And it isn’t a resistance, it’s a war. —GRAVITY’S RAINBOW https://youtu.be/n1jF6T78JF4?si=ssWjshhmVyz68Dma&t=105

What a twisted set of values to trash honest people in the military who are undergoing a harrowing experience—all to protect a lying draft dodger whose incompetence directly caused their untenable circumstances.

Perhaps the Pentagon does not have the resources to hold drills with S. Korea given that we are having to reposition assets in the Pacific to the Middle East? Even if that is true, and I suspect it is... the belligerence from this monster makes all the foreign policy stuff so much worse.

President Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon on Sunday to scale back planned joint military exercises with South Korea after he said South Korea declined to help denuclearize Iran. https://to.pbs.org/4qpzyRo

I’m begging you with tears in my eyes. 💔 My fingers are getting worse, and I’m terrified I may lose them. I need $170 for urgent treatment, but I have no way to pay. Please don’t scroll past. Your small help could save my hand. 🙏❤️‍🩹 chuffed.org/project/moh01

Hakeem Jeffries cannot become speaker in 2027. It would be a colossal waste of power and opportunity for Dems to elevate him again. They need to choose someone stronger and preferably isn’t to the right of the vast majority of American voters on healthcare.

Nothing monstrous or cynical about it. Listen, I feel no need to praise S&S. I’d still call this a welcome show of publisher support—a refusal to cave to racists who undermined him and his work and his life at every turn. At the very least, let his book have its day.

I’m sorry, Arday himself can’t benefit from this but his family can. Why shouldn’t they if people want to buy it? It’s so telling that *this* is what is considered “monstrous.”

Thomas Chatterton Williams:

Yikes, the Arday book is on its way to becoming a bestseller now, and it feels pretty cynical that the publisher hasn’t pulled it

Tyler Austin Harper quoting him:

Monstrous
