This is what writing *is.* What the reader experiences in just the output of all this backend structure that authors create. If your characters are randomly generated by an algorithm and not a product of your thinking, then you’re not actually writing.

Lord have mercy a video on here telling writers that AI can be used as a tool for: - building character lists - organizing ideas - drafting outlines - brainstorming structure - and more Dawg that's all a part of the writing process.

The military accidentally killed a medevac crew this year, and hardly anyone is talking about it. New Wired reporting says a medevac plane lost GPS during an Army jamming exercise near White Sands. In low visibility, it struck a mountain, killing all four aboard. #SheShed 🧵

🧵🧵🧵 A scandal that hardly anyone knows happened is Trump giving traitor Michael Flynn $1.25 million in your tax money. Flynn, Trump’s 1st national security adviser, pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI but was pardoned by Trump. He sued, alleging "weaponization," and DOJ paid him in March. 1/4🧵

The agreement was an extraordinary example of how the Trump administration has offered legal relief to those aligned with the president.

A second man, Edwin Lopez-Cornejo, has died at Delaney Hall, the inhumane ICE detention center run by private prison contractor GEO Group. GEO Group’s profits have soared by over 700% since Trump has been back in office. Imagine profiting from death and suffering. Deplorable.

it would be awesome if @rweingarten.bsky.social would have listened to those of us a.f.t. members who actually work with a.i. when we told her this was a bad idea and not to do it but now we have to listen to her claim that taking money from bad people to teach bad lessons is a moral imperative

“Teaching educators about AI is a ‘moral imperative’, said Randi Weingarten, the AFT president.” “And without outside funding, it was a choice between taking big tech’s money or doing nothing, she said.”

the el-sayed win shows yet again that centrists are now everything they always claim the left is when it comes to israel: ideologically rigid, in hock to extremists, mistaking online beefs (ie hasan) for mass politics—and toxic to the electorate.

I was in a friend’s rental car and in place of a rear-view mirror there was a mirror-sized digital video feed of the back of the car. They replaced one of the most reliable & intuitive safety features in a car with a digital surrogate that could glitch at any moment. KEEP ANALOG SAFTEY FEATURES

It's Textile Tuesday, and you know what that means: a piece by artist Faig Ahmed called "The Dragons of Karabakh" that's woven to look like an antique Central Asian carpet is melting off the wall into a puddle. More about the artist here: faigahmed.com

A paramilitary group plotted to overthrow the Constitution then conducted a violent attack on America. They were convicted in court of seditious conspiracy, and jailed. Then the leader they aimed to illegally install got power and let them out, their records wiped clean. The Jan. 6 attackers won.

Judge Pained as He Grants Dismissal of Jan. 6 Charges Against Oath Keepers

The judge, Amit P. Mehta, blasted the administration’s request for a dismissal in the case, saying it bestowed “unearned grace” on the Oath Keepers defendants “by wiping their records clean.”

Yes, the one who couldn't win a primary in her own party despite a $55 MILLION dollar advantage—much of it from a PAC that would prefer to see the Republican win anyway—is the more "electable" one, the one who can really reach voters. That is a thing people believe.

It's impossible to miss how AI has fucked up every digital interaction, and the awful, bile-inducing "art" is everywhere, but until my son started pointing it out, I had not realized how much AI-generated music there is being played in public
