It's too hot to bake and I'm missing the snacks in Japan, so here's my easy rice cooker matcha cake recipe: In a bowl, mix 1 cup of self rising flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 teaspoons of matcha powder (I used three).

I'll see the Odyssey at some point, possibly next week if I can slip away before I head to Oklahoma for MythCon, but I'm happy to have the soundtrack to write to. I'll be interspersing it with the Assassin's Creed: Odyssey soundtrack but so far it's got the vibes I'm trying to nail in this book.

Today I get to send the guys somewhere I've always wanted to write about: Dodona in northern Aegea. It's one of those places I've envisioned from the earliest drafts of Dark Moon, Shallow Sea, so now, writing the third and final book, I get to use it as a set piece before I put my favorite toys away

I'd also add to pick a genre you're going to want to work in for a long time, at least five to ten years. It's easy to get "typecast" and be sort of stuck in that lane. Even if you avoid this, a multibook deal means you'll be working in that genre for a while.
