Amazing reporting from @breachmedia.ca Canadian universities running a secret surveillance network, keeping tabs on students opposing genocide Vile The top brass of all these institutions should apologize & resign immediately #cdnpoli

New reporting from @breachmedia.ca shows that Canadian universities operated a secret national effort to coordinate surveillance and policing of anti-genocide activism and encampments. breachmedia.ca/canadian-uni...

"....in Alberta, the secretly-coordinated effort, which would culminate in militarized raids at multiple universities, would involve not just police but also an official from Danielle Smith’s UCP government."

A new investigation by @drugdatadecoded.ca and David Slater reveals how universities in Canada coordinated to spy on and violently remove their students’ anti-genocide encampments. Then, they denied the existence of records, delayed their release, and deleted chats. breachmedia.ca/canadian-uni...

I went to the encampments at UBC to deliver supplies and interview the students and they were incredible brave and articulate on the subject. Willing to risk everything to do whatever they could to try and stop the genocide. Disgraceful they would be treated like criminals

Couple thoughts from the @breachmedia.ca piece unrelated to the actual story: - Can’t say loudly enough how awesome it was to work with David Slater on this. He is DOGGED and we pushed each other to our best work over many months… 1/ breachmedia.ca/canadian-uni...

A must-read article by @breachmedia.ca on Canadian universities sharing tips on suppressing speech about Israel’s genocide in Gaza & monitoring faculty & student protests. Not surprised to see YorkU listed.

“Let’s hope for a quiet day for the ground-breaking,” MacEwan’s provost said ahead of the opening of his new business school named for a former chair of a company working with the Israeli army in Palestine. No one had told him the encampments were starting. breachmedia.ca/canadian-uni...

Stephen Miller said just the other day that all asylum claims are "fake." A couple deported from the U.S. to Guatemala were gagged, bound, and shot dead. Their 14-month old found crying next to their mother's body. People like Miller don't care though because this is the point: ethnic cleansing.

Overland couple shot dead in Guatemala after local ICE stop led to deportations

The couple’s 14-month-old daughter was found crying beside her mother’s body in a sugarcane field last week, according to Guatemalan authorities and media.

We now live in a slop world: Everything is suspect, so therefore nothing can be real - Halifax Examiner

AI slop is bad, but even worse is that it has pried apart our collective appreciation for the truth.

Watching CBC News, you might not even make the connection between this year's extreme wildfire season, and fossil fuel-induced climate change. Tara Mahoney sits down with @desmondcole.bsky.social to discuss gaps in the public broadcaster’s climate coverage. breachmedia.ca/why-is-cbcs-...
