There has to be an understanding that human rights and equality laws are about protecting people from particular kinds of systemically galvanised harm, or the human rights law itself becomes a weapon of the dominant groups.

I'm just gonna say: it somewhat baffles me that people who are understandably skeptical of opaque LLMs as legitimate sources of information will suddenly go full on "the computer KNOWS" when they are using opaque tools to "detect" AI. The computer does not know.

It’s much the same in Alberta. Police and traffic safety orgs have been doubling and tripling down on PSAs about speed limits since the province banned speed cameras. Crashes and fatalities are up, meanwhile the government’s priorities are increasing highway speed limits and removing bike lanes.

while there are problems with anything, the nuclear block is absolutely my second favorite thing that bluesky did. (my first favorite is detach quote, which is another thing that wrecks the way they like to use social media)

We're one category of many. If you read the actual transcript or listen beyond this one rage-baiting clip, it's not about politics. He uses the sports category as an example. Bluesky doesn't want to be seen as for only thing, and that is perfectly normal and part of their purpose from the beginning.
Real talk: My Bluesky account is my most popular social media account, ever. It's been a significant benefit to me in tangible ways. But if they think *I* think they're irreplaceable? Their very existence proves they're wrong. I peaced-out on a 60k Twitter. I'll drop this place too, if it tries it
Why is it never seen as a problem that Gab or Truth Social are alt-right bubbles, or that Musk is actively making X a white-supremacist site, but a social media site being perceived as liberal or progressive is a horrible flaw that must be rectified? Is it a money thing? It must be a money thing.
