So, fellow weirdos - what're your comfort movies when you're in a bad way? I'm thinking horror in particular as that's always worked for me, but open to suggestions. I need to distract my brain 😖

In other news, we've decided we're going to have a TARDIS-blue bathroom. So we're now on a quest for appropriately themed storage and washing items 😍 This and the current Halloween stuff in TK Maxx mean I'm going to be SO broke - but happy! 😂

I had a small medical procedure today that failed (my body didn't cooperate). I'm fine, but have been bleeding and want to rest now with books and treatos, please. Self-care time.

Jeanne Gibson, known worldwide as Rosie the Riveter, passed away on 29th July 2026 at the remarkable age of 100. Thank you Jeanne for giving women a symbol of strength when we were told we had none. 💋💪🏻💘

I think we could improve society, at least a little, by simply putting 'known liar' before the name of tech CEOs in headlines. "Known Liar, Sam Altman, says his product is capable of something it isn't". See? It's much more accurate.

Why am I suddenly getting messages from authors about my DNF reviews? Not every book is for everyone, and I always aim for helpful reasons as to why it didn't work for me. (No, I never tag anyone unless the review is good)

I'm in such pain atm (physical and mental), but I'm doing my best to get something useful done each day. Every little bit of writing, tidying or self-care counts as a win. And when the tears come, it's a release of pressure (honest). Battling on. Big love.

Microsoft is planning to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. It’ll drain thousands of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

I've just finished two books in succession that were heading for a comfortable 4-5 stars - until about 2/3 through, when they nosedived hard. Beyond disappointed and oddly let down. I really hope the next ones stick the landing.
