You might say, “this is a rich jerk running his mouth, it doesn’t matter”. But these are the same people who can fund think tanks, buy news agencies, pay lobbying and PR firms, and buy access to government leaders. It’s a prime example of why we need to tax the super-rich.

Giving billionaires more influence? No thank you. People think we’re being dramatic when we say billionaires are destroying democracies But here’s Canada’s richest tech bro-ligarch saying poor people shouldn’t be able to vote and rich people's votes should count multiple times:

Canadians are struggling to afford basic needs, while the rich are getting richer. We need a tax code that supports working Canadians. Emma Davis on the What She Said Podcast on how taxing the rich benefits all Canadians and why she is a member of Patriotic Millionaires Canada.

Emma is an all-star! "We’ve been conditioned to see taxation as a burden, but we can reframe this. Let’s celebrate a mechanism that allows us to collectively build a society that works for everyone. This year, I proudly paid the extra tax voluntarily. Next year, I hope the government makes me."

It's the last day of tax season! Check out PM Canada Board member Emma Davis' op-ed in the Star today, about why she overpaid $1 million on her taxes this year (and why it won't fix what ails our tax code): www.thestar.com/business/opi...

It’s time for those who have benefited the most from all Canada has to offer to reinvest into those systems, instead of pulling up the ladder behind them. Patriotic Millionaires Canada Executive Director Dylan Dussault on Patriotic Millionaires Canada’s mission and message.

This conversation happened in no small part thanks to recent excellent reports published by @c4tf.bsky.social with @bcpolicy.bsky.social and @oxfamcanada.bsky.social (I'll link both below). Also highly recommend the second half of the episode featuring @jimbostanford.bsky.social.

Our Executive Director @dylandusseault.bsky.social joined @thebigstory.bsky.social to talk about the growth of wealth inequality in Canada, why it's dangerous, how the tax code fuels it, and how we can fix it. ottawa.citynews.ca/audio/the-bi...

Enjoyed talking with @clementnocos.bsky.social for @patmillscanada.bsky.social about why cutting taxes is not the way to encourage investment or entrepreneurship, why even the wealthy want to tax the rich, and why billionaire wealth flight is an empty threat.

On a new episode of @broadbent.bsky.social's 🌅PERSPECTIVES🌅 Dylan Dusseault of Patriotic Millionaires Canada sits down with host @clementnocos.bsky.social to explain why we need to tackle extreme wealth inequality in order to save democracy. perspectivesjournal.ca/patriotic-mi... 🔶

So many of the big global problems addressed at Davos are symptoms of an ignored one: extreme and ever growing levels of wealth inequality. Our tax code currently guarantees it will only grow (and grow faster). But it can be a tool to constrain it, and fund the fixes to its trickle down impacts

New polling shows that taxing the wealthy maintains majority support, even among the wealthy themselves. That should be reflected in international priorities. By @dylandusseault.bsky.social. @policyalternatives.ca #wealthtax www.policyalternatives.ca/news-researc...

Chatted about how we can use the tax code to reduce grocery price gouging! But the explosive wealth growth of the Weston and the Pattinson families aren't unique. There has been universal massive growth in billionaire wealth while average Canadians struggle. vancouver.citynews.ca/2026/01/20/n...

Two of Canada's richest grocery store owners got significantly richer in 2025, according to a report published Monday.

For the record: Canada is also a country with a massive amount of oil, and Trump has already spent significant time blaming Canada for drug problems in the US, so I don’t know why any Canadian leader with an ounce of critical thinking skills would cheerlead this.

Perhaps the government should wonder whether the largest tech company in the country actually wants innovation, growth, and entrepreneurship? Or whether they’d just like to stay on top of the pile and line their own pockets?

Patriotic Millionaires Canada@patmillscanada.bsky.social · 11mo ago

We’re not going to build an economy that lifts working Canadians, protects our democracy, and sustains our growth if the government’s tax strategy is: “Whatever big tech wants” nationalnewswatch.com/2025/11/22/o...

"Canada should not race the U.S. to the bottom with tax credits, but position ourselves as the country where talent can take risks, where families experience genuine long-term security, and where investors know domestic demand will be stable and growing. That is our competitive advantage."

Why Canada’s proposed corporate tax relief is not the answer

Tax cuts are not what motivates investors or entrepreneurs, they’re not what creates jobs, and they undermine the things that do.
