I'm as shocked as you are, dear reader, that the leader of the Conservative Party would omit to mention or factor in the 11,651 prison places that were closed over the same period due to either prison closures or cell dilapidation.
Andy Burnham has claimed only 500 prison places were added between 2010 and 2024, but Kemi Badenoch says the Conservatives created 14,000 new places. Can these two claims add up? We’ve had a look at the figures 👇 fullfact.org/crime/how-ma...
Folding like a cheap umbrella? The US has removed Iran-related sanctions, according to the US Treasury's website, Reuters reports.
I don’t understand why some commentators seem to think Badenoch is doing well as leader, when everything I see her do fits exactly this description. Sorry, she just comes across as very stupid
Badenoch represents double-down conservatism. Never apologise or moderate. Insult your opponents. Patronise journalists when challenged. Contradict yourself, lie, whatever it takes, but never back down. And that's how you end up creating an extremely avoidable Tory antisemitism scandal overnight

The Tory "plan" to send prisoners to foreign jails isn't getting enough scrutiny. What is the legal basis for banishing British citizens to Albania? Whose laws are they subject to? How many prison staff have to go over? Are family visits just abolished? How many prisoners are we talking about?

Were on the South Dorset prairies y’day. See how parched it looks, & was v dusty as tractors harrowed muck

The Righteous Rupert Lowe-Life preached about leaches sucking the financial blood out of Britain. This is the same Whoopert Lowe-Life whose company took £100k in furlough cash despite making £7.9 million profit He really didn’t need it but it was free, it was available so he took it like a leach
I’m getting texts & emails from SE water telling me to conserve water otherwise I risk disruption to my water supply.I know it’s been hot for weeks with no rain I’m saving water wherever I can. What gets me 😡 is that SEW haven’t built a reservoir here for 70 yrs and they don’t mend leaks for weeks!

It was 63 years ago today… And ”She Loves You” was No.1 in single charts. Sold singles the record was broken in 1977 by Paul McCartneys ”Mull Of Kinture” which record was broken 1982 by Michael Jackson, who bought the Beatles catalogue and betrayed Paul.

Over 2,500 species of moth have been recorded in Britain, compared to just 59 species of butterfly. Lovers of our dark skies, they pollinate flowers, support wildlife and help keep ecosystems healthy. Despite their reputation, only two moth species eat your jumpers... 📸: Charlie Hellewell
