Feeling melancholic today, regarding the requirement to stay in Finland quite a lot each year. 🙁 Fantasizing about hanging out as a free person, just loitering around the yet-unvisited parts of the Nordics, experiencing the places; yet I am not so free. 🪽🥀
I figured what it is about strength training, rock-climbing, skateboarding that appeals to me, and what about running, swimming makes them seem so boring: it's about difficulty-progression. At all times, the nice activities have a way for me to feel challenged.

I bought this keyboard in 1998 and it has been my daily driver for the last 28 years. After nearly three decades of service the right shift key has failed. No amount of cleaning will seemingly revive it. I guess it's time to pick up one of those circuit pens and get to drawing some new traces.

Getting my reps in -- "expressing desire" is not the same thing as "asking for something", and it [expressing desire] is so, so difficult. As with training anything, the only thing I need to do is "get my reps in" 🏋️, but I'm so, so weak in this...

It also helps to explain why a modern Finnish infantry platoon has about three times as many officers as most militaries. Partly because the default command expected of a Finnish military leader is "Follow me!". And that tends to lead to a lot of officer casualties.
