*clears throat* *taps mic* criticizing the adult women who knowingly attach themselves to Trump - whether for his approval, proximity to fascist power, party status, or simply the joy of being evil - is not misogyny, no matter how much vicarious embarrassment it gives you to watch them do it

A thing to appreciate about Mamdani so far is that he seems to realize how much is riding on his narrative of left wing failure or success and is prioritizing a bunch of highly visible actions and messaging that don’t immediately create critical backlash

One of the smartest ideas I've seen in the last few years is instead of trying to find "the Joe Rogan of the left," buy up the news sites of defunct papers and put some money into providing local news coverage in rural areas.

At an invitation-only gathering in Italy, white supremacists mapped out strategies to target rural America while local press coverage vanishes www.confrontthehate.com/p/white-nati...

As economic pressures gut local newsrooms across the country, white nationalist figures see an untapped opening: stepping into media deserts where there are few journalists left to sound the alarm.

“Local media has been dying all over America, which means that there’s essentially no real way to hold local governments accountable—and they can do whatever they want,” Kevin DeAnna told an invitation-only gathering of approximately 50 white nationalists in Rome.

Breaking into a broad smile, he excitedly added: “You should be fantasizing about this. This is a good thing.”

Years ago (in the pre-2FA era) my email got hacked and all my friends got that "I'm typing this with tears in my eyes" scam email where your wallet got stolen while you were on vacation in London. Most of my friends figured out it wasn't me from the grammatical errors 😂

Just in case anyone gets one of these on any of their socials and hasn't come across this kind of thing before: This was from a contact of mine who had his twitter account stolen, probably by clicking on the link he sent. If a DM looks weird or seems out of character, assume it's a scam.

"I need a quick favor 🙏🏻. I’m currently in the running to co-host a major podcast event with Spotify and Google, and your support would mean a lot. Please take a moment to vote for me using the link below. I truly appreciate it 💯🫶🏻

Here’s the thing about Y2K, the ozone layer, etc. The most leftist—in the sense of *valuing labor*—thing you can do is reject the brainwashing that tells you that heroism is running into a burning building and not the slow, patient, boring, unglamorous work of *preventing* disaster.

I think a lot of people would have died without the work of people like you. The power grid could have gone down, air traffic control, supply chains, medical equipment, water infrastructure… You prevented a disaster. That is heroism. Heroism doesn’t always have to be running into a burning building

the fact that john ossoff can kick off a two-day media cycle by saying that the president is uninterested in doing his job and is sleeping through meetings and traveling around with a young blonde, suggests that not enough of these guys are speaking plainly and effectively about these assholes
