Paul Skenes doesn’t get enough credit for his realism. When he told the press recently “we have a playoff team in there,” he was excluding himself.

Guys will listen to male influencer bullshit about needing to have a six pack and manipulate everyone and meanwhile women will go “you know who is the sexiest fucking guy I’ve ever seen?” and post this

Bob Hoskins with Roger Rabbit

Mlodzinski will be heading back to the rotation with Keller on the IL, I presume. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them do some more bullpen games down the stretch too given the number of bullpen arms they have and the weaknesses in the rotation.

Again, this was a huge topic of discussion when the Yankees were dominating and revenue sharing was brought up. My biggest problem with revenue sharing back then was "what if the teams getting that money whose owners don't want to win just pocket it?" and GUESS WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED!!

Those of you eager to serve wealthy MLB owners as volunteer Pinkertons won’t like to read this, but as usual Joe Sheehan nails the real problem:

Joe Sheehan: This trade is a microcosm of the real problem MLB has faced for decades. It’s not about haves and have-nots, but wants and want-nots. The Dodgers, and teams like them, want to win more than teams like the Tigers do, so they go out and acquire the Tigers’ best pitcher. MLB has built an entire labor strategy and media campaign around demonizing the Dodgers, when in fact it’s the Tigers who are wrecking baseball. You have to be through the looking glass to think the sport’s problem is the team that’s trying to win rather than the team that’s trading Tarik Skubal while sitting 2 1/2 games out of a playoff spot.

I just keep coming back to one question: If being 2 1/2 games out of a playoff berth with 51 games left is a selling position, what is the value of that playoff berth? Why are we letting 40% of the teams into the playoffs, deeply undermining the regular season, if this is how teams act?
