Lots of people replying/quoting this with jokes about dinosaurs/jurassic park/etc and it’s a good time for a favorite fun fact: all birds are literally a branch of theropod dinosaurs that split off from other theropods in the Jurassic period. They look like dinosaurs because they are dinosaurs.

Today I learned that baby cranes are called "colts" because their legs are so long and they can run around like idiots shortly after hatching. This is delightful, I enjoy knowing this.

Nolan's hardly an underdog, but I really do think we need to get away from the idea that fidelity to source material is an index of quality. There are absolutely problems with the film, but it's an entertainment designed to warn audiences that complex civilization is coming unglued. It succeeds.
