Cartoonist, writer, has a mortal fear of the suburbs. Lives in Tokyo.

Trains in Denmark are so insanely expensive and fuck ugly. I so look forward to coming back to Japan where they're cheap and neat and I don't have to listen to somebody fighting with their daughter in law over the phone.

I used to love This American Life, but then America turned to absolute shit and now it's mostly stories that remind me how shit it is. Like they're good stories, we're all just fucking sick of hearing about America and its shitness.

People in Denmark really love to be saying that jantelov doesn't exist, without ever having lived anywhere else that it doesn't. Every culture has its own mode of oppression, in America it's money, in Japan it's Wa. That's not to say it's a bad thing always, but if you don't believe in it ur a dummy

One of today's political prisoners. Cartoonist & zine maker Daniel Rolando Sanchez Estrada wasn't even at the ICE protest. He was accused of "moving" a box of anti-Trump zines THE NEXT DAY. A rightwing judge sentenced him to 30 years! Just for possessing zines. The darkness is descending.

A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

A photo of Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada, who looks like a cuddly and rad dude, smiling while holding a sketchbook full of drawings of baby hippos.

Come to think of it I haven't seen a single dog shit in Japan the whole time I've been living here. THIS is the crowning achievement of a society based around shame and suppression of the individual - no dog turds!
