In 2020, Patrick Braxton became the first Black mayor of a small town in rural Alabama. However, the town's white ex-mayor and council members reappointed themselves without anyone knowing. He's been locked out of town hall, denied access to town accounts and nearly run off the road, he says

A quick reminder of what we do in DC! •Weekly meals & supplies to encampments •monthly cash distro ($150) to housed & recently housed people •move in support & logistics •support for medical & admin needs •lots of random support & advocacy for unhoused neighbors!

Reminder that addiction to narcotics is rampant in US police forces. We’ve been seeing dozens of cops every month ODing on drugs they obviously willingly took. We’ve seen several high profile (and many low profile) cops get busted for large trafficking rings. We’ve seen cops show up to calls high.

Cops in San Francisco attacked a group of children at an annual skate event today using riot gear causing a mass panic. Completely unprovoked, cops kettled, beat, and fired munitions at the teens. 50-60 were trapped by cops w/o food, water, or medical for hours from the afternoon past midnight.

On Monday, Philadelphia was attacked by a mass shooter with genocidal Anti-Black motives. The man, like many before, was motivated by the bloodthirsty Right wing echo chamber.

The assertions by Kimbrady Carriker were made to police in the hours after Carriker was arrested while wearing body armor and a ski mask and carrying an assault rifle and ghost gun on the 1600 block of South Frazier Street, said the sources, who requested anonymity to discuss the ongoing investigation.
Carriker first told responding officers who made the arrest that they had done a good job, the sources said. Carriker then told them the gunfire — which spanned several blocks and struck people, including children, who had no apparent connection to one another — was an attempt to help police because “all these guys are out there killing people,” the sources said.Carriker later told detectives that Yahweh, a Hebrew name for God, would be sending more people to help, the sources said. He then declined to provide further information to investigators.
Some of Carriker’s roommates, meanwhile, told detectives Carriker had been increasingly agitated recently — routinely wearing a bulletproof vest, carrying a gun, and screaming inside his house. One of the roommates described Carriker as a “biblical extremist” who also believed people should assist police in protecting their neighborhoods, sources said. And a neighbor of one of the people Carriker killed said she saw a video of him screaming battle cries during his rampage.

“Hoorah!” Carriker screamed, according to Drew. “It’s time to go to war.”
Joseph Wamah Jr. went outside to see what was going on, Drew said his family told her. But he was met by Carriker, who chased him back into his house, and shot him multiple times.
Carriker then continued across 56th Street, police said, shooting at random civilians. In May, Carriker shared posts from pro-gun groups supporting former President Donald Trump and the Second Amendment. In June, he shared a mocking video of a speech by President Joe Biden and added his view that Biden was trying to “take our arms.”

He posted on the same day, “The only thing more terrifying than blindness is being the only one who can see.”

Reflecting on Pride Month: around here organizing was tighter and communities were better networked to share intel, communicate, provide assistance. Opposition was much weaker than any time in last 3 1/2 years. Few street preachers, fascists, neo-nazis, and zero proud boy presence. Gj y’all!

There appears to be confirmation that the Waterloo mass stabbing was an Anti-Queer hate crime. This is what eliminationists who say they want “eliminate” trans and other gender diversity want. Genocides are often carried out largely by vigilantes, including previous US genocides against BIPOC.

Wednesday, 06/28: Yesterday, a man walked into a “gender studies” classroom at the University of Waterloo in Canada and went on an apparently anti-Queer stabbing spree; stabbing the professor and 2 students.

Toronto (AP) - A professor and two students were stabbed Wednesday during a class on “gender issues” at a university in the Canadian city of Waterloo and a suspect has been taken into custody, police said.

The wounds were non-life threatening, police said, adding that the motive for the attack was not immediately clear. The suspect was being questioned by investigators.

“There is no further threat to public safety either on campus or outside in the broader community at this time,” Waterloo regional police service saidManning said the stabbing occurred in philosophy 202, which, according to the university website, focuses on “gender issues.”

“Our entire community is really concerned that this would happen here. It’s a big shock,” Manning told reporters.

Yusuf Kaymak, a student at University of Waterloo, told CTV News the attack happened in a gender studies class.

“The guy basically walked in and asked the teacher if he was the professor, he said ‘yeah’ then he pulled out a knife and after that, everybody just ran out,” Kaymak said to CTV.

“I ran out, and after we went outside, there was a kid that was stabbed. He was bleeding (from) his arm. I don’t know what happened to the professor after that.”

After midnight on June 28, 1969, bigoted cops raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City. The cops tried to shut down the bar and arrest community members for the crime of “crossdressing.” The cops began taking anyone in a dress into to bathroom to inspect their genitalia.

Stonewall (1993)
by Martin Duberman

One of the most important moments of resistance from the 1960s was the Stonewall Rebellion. On the night of June 27-28, 1969, a multiracial group of gays who had gathered at the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in New York City's Greenwich Village resisted when police sought to shut down the bar (allegedly for serving alcohol without a license) and to arrest patrons. They fought back, as the historian Martin Duberman recounts here, and, in doing so, helped spur a new, more militant phase of the struggle for gay liberation. —Introduction from Zinn and Arnove's Voices of a People's History of the United States

As the police, amid a growing crowd and mounting anger, continued to load prisoners into the van, Martin Boyce, an eighteen-year-old scare drag queen, saw a leg in nylons and sporting a high heel shoot out of the back of the paddy wagon into the chest of a cop, throwing him backward. Another queen then opened the door on the side of the wacoins, bottles, cans, bricks from a nearby construction site. Someone even picked up dog shit from the street and threw it in the cops' direction. As the fever mounted, Zucchi [Zookie Zarfas] was overheard nervously asking Mario what the hell the crowd was upset about: the Mafia or the police? The police, Mario reassured him. Zucchi gave a big grin of relief and decided to vent some stored-up anger of his own: He egged on bystanders in their effort to rip up a damaged fire hydrant and he persuaded a young kid named Timmy to throw the wire-mesh garbage can nearby. Timmy was not much bigger than the can (and had just come out the week before), but he gave it his all—the can went sailing into the plate-glass window (painted black and reinforced from behind by plywood) that stretched across the front of the Stonewall.

Stunned and frightened by the crowd's unexpected fury, the police, at the order of Deputy Inspector Pine, retreated inside the bar. Pine had been accustomed to two or threeStill, the danger was very real, and the police were badly frightened. The shock to self-esteem had been stunning enough; now came an actual threat to physical safety. Dodging flying glass and missiles, Patrolman Gil Weisman, the one cop in uniform, was hit near the eye with a shard, and blood spurted out. With that, the fear turned abruptly to fury. Three of the cops, led by Pine, ran out the front door, which had crashed in from the battering, and started screaming threats at the crowd, thinking to cow it. But instead a rain of coins and bottles came down, and a beer can glanced off Deputy Inspector Charles Smyths head. Pine lunged into the crowd, grabbed somebody around the waist, pulled him back into the doorway, and then dragged him by the hair, inside.

Ironically, the prisoner was the well-known—and heterosexual—folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Earlier that night Van Ronk had been in and out of the Lions Head, a bar a few doors down from Stonewall that catered to a noisy, macho journ
The TPF was a highly trained, crack riot-control unit that had been set up to respond to the proliferation of protests against the Vietnam War. Wearing helmets with visors, carrying assorted weapons, including billy clubs and tear gas, its two dozen members all seemed massively proportioned. They were a formidable sight as, linked arm in arm, they came up Christopher Street in a wedge formation that resembled (by design) a Roman legion. In their path, the rioters slowly retreated, but—contrary to police expectations—did not break and run. Craig, for one, knelt down in the middle of the street with the camera he'd retrieved from his apartment and, determined to capture the moment, snapped photo after photo of the oncoming TPF minions.'

As the troopers bore down on him, he scampered up and joined the hundreds of others who scattered to avoid the billy clubs but then raced around the block, doubled back behind the troopers, and pelted them with debris. When the cops realized that a con
