Can we please give a HUGE shout out to Stacey Abrams? She worked and fought and organized and created the foundation for the important win by Keisha Lance Bottoms to become the first female and first Black governor in Georgia's history, as well as the first Black female governor in the US.
HIGH IMPORTANCE - TO ALL MY 16000 followers, email your congressperson and senators to urge them to pass a $15 an hour minimum wage as the first bill in January. Look at the largest shift in voters, young men and raising the minimum wage will SPEAK to them. I just did.
First bill to pass in January is to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. Trump won’t veto.
Look, I own my own small company and have run it for 35 years. Some years I make a lot of money and pay nearly half in state and federal taxes. Some or half of the balance of my income I then keep in the company to continue operating. I am enraged that large companies pay 10 or 20% in taxes. Wrong.
Last I looked, DSA isn’t advocating the government take over private businesses.
