Does anyone know if there are examples of Lee Harvey Oswald's handwriting where he wrote in print? Everything I can find is in cursive.
By the way, I'll be ALA Annual this weekend for anyone here who also works in libraries!! (I can't believe it's almost the end of June...)
Translators! Please, *please* get yourselves a website that lists your publications, credits, qualifications, etc. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just a place where people can see what your deal is. I can’t hire you based on your Bluesky profile.
Today's a good interview for those interested in manga translations! On the Electric Transit we have an interview with Mei Amaki who is a freelance manga translator. Go check it out! #comics #manga electrictransit.wordpress.com/2026/06/19/m...

These meetups are open to people working in manga, light novel, games, etc. localization. Aspiring folks are also welcome to join.
Every one of the new clients I have gotten in the last three years came through inquiries on my website. In my opinion, It's ABSOLUTELY the bare minimum, once you have anything to put on it.
Don't let your professional self live only on websites controlled by corporations and weirdo billionaires! Have a home base you control and can direct people to, especially people who might be interested in hiring you to do work you are good at (like me, right now).
Putting this out there: I want to work on more literary translations and children's books next year! 10+ years of experience 400+ books translated 1 Batchelder Award winner 1 Eisner nominee 5 American Manga Award nominees ...including 1 nominee for Best Translation

In cocoon's story and in real life, the Himeyuri girls headed south, where the battle was most deadly. My grandmother's siblings did the same, while my grandmother fled north and survived
The first mention of Okinawa in popular media I encountered, the battle was used as a joke in That '70s Show, accompanied by a laugh track and my mom's reminder 1/3 of the island died Translating this book was an emotional process because I wish it had existed while I was growing up
cocoon is now available in print and digital! Read a free preview: https://bit.ly/4tlkrcg
