It’s very surreal seeing social media algorithms suddenly start pushing German-language AfD content while in Germany 4 of the first 5 reels on my Facebook are just AfD posts, plus one random Star Trek reel (I’ve never engaged with AfD content other than checking their FB page for event info)
This endless train of puff pieces about charming neo-Nazis inevitably leads to Nazi ideologies being mainstreamed. Once you shift from "we should kick Nazi's teeth down their throats" to "What if the Nazi is wearing a buttondown shirt?" it's very hard to come back from that. And the Nazis know it.
This is heartbreaking and infuriating. A mother and her child spent the night hiding from russian missiles and drones. In the morning, they walk out of the shelter and this is what the child sees. Ukrainian children deserve to grow up without russia trying to kill them.
