Belgium's electricity mix is nuclear free for the first time in decades since this morning after Tihange 3 closed down for its 6-months refurbishement program. Doel 4 did the same a few days ago. Until November, Belgium will rely heavily on imports and to some extent new gas plants. #EnergySky

New data for February 2026 confirms that the monthly sea level for the Baltic Sea was the lowest on record. The average monthly sea level across all 14 Finnish tide gauges was -51.7 cm in February 2026, breaking thus the long-standing record set in February 1947.
Solar as large as gas in Belgium a saturday in February... Seems like import increasingly pushing gas out of the merit order there.

The local government just released a statement that the coal exit led to very clear air quality improvements. Can you spot the coal exit in the graph of SO2 concentrations?
