you shouldn’t be allowed to make a startup if all you care about is making a startup being a founder is not a real aspiration

Sometimes I get self-conscious when I’m listening to a YouTube video in public and I start visibly smiling/chuckling. But today I just watched someone else do that and it was a beautiful thing to see. Don’t ever be afraid to smile :)

right now everything in the world is telling you to go faster, ship more, add that feature, start another project so i'm actively working on feeling ok not doing any of that

My timeline is half leftists complaining about Gavin Newsom and half liberals complaining about Graham Platner and I'd like to propose that we launch both of them into the sun together.

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs) Good tech. Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales) Bad tech.

i think the biggest issue where i split ethically in a meaningful way with people is that i have long been against intellectual property as a concept. i think IP helps disney, not small artists. a lot of people want to strengthen IP in response to ai stuff and i just don't think that's a good thing
