I was taken aback when I first saw Mayor Wilson’s budget proposal, but this Seattle Nice interview shed some much needed light on the choice she and her team made. I highly recommend it. Now I’m curious to see how SCC responds/counters!
Two Seattle Nice episodes this week! The first is our interview Mayor Katie Wilson and city budget director Aly Pennucci. The second: A deep dive into proposed developer discounts with Councilmember Dionne Foster.
Nilu absolutely rocked this forum! She will make a fantastic City Council member for D5.
The outcome of Seattle's race for District 5 will have significant impacts on the City Council's political balance. Either candidate on the ballot will be new to elected office, and oppose each other on hot button issues, such as the city's approach to public safety.
Pt. 1: A handy-dandy guide for people who care about American health and science. Vaccines work to keep our communities safer, squashing outbreaks, and stopping our healthcare system from being overwhelmed. Yet, RFK Jr. is setting our vax infrastructure on fire. #impeachthequack
Trumpism is anti-science. Here's frightening proof of what happens when his #DOGE hackers gut the #CDC as he installs a dangerously unqualified #RFKJr to run #HHS - kids die. www.cbsnews.com/news/milwauk...
CDC denies help for lead poisoning in Milwaukee schools due to layoffs
The CDC rejected a request for help "due to the complete loss" of their lead poisoning experts.

51%… The number of graduate research fellowships (GRFP) awarded by the NSF fell 51% from 2036 last year to only 1000 this year. The federal funding cuts WILL have long-term effects on not only the development of the next gen of scientists, but also the research they put out. Science is under attack.
