Mom. Masker 😷. Books. Beagles. Coffee. Introvert. Pro-choice. Science over vibes. Always learning. BScN. she/her

If you're scared about being the only person wearing a mask, I can tell you that most people do not care. I've been masking for the past 6 years. I've travelled to several different countries in that time. I've never had Covid and I've endured a handful of snarky comments at most. Be brave.

If you haven't been masking, give it a try. What do you have to lose? Just wear one in crowds and on planes, trains, and buses. Find a style that fits, so you don't futz with it. You don't have to get sick all the time.

Endometriosis takes nine years to diagnose. That’s about to change. NICE has approved two tests: a saliva test reading microRNA markers, and a gut-sensor test returning results in 45 minutes, sparing women the keyhole surgery currently needed. buff.ly/QX3jHk8 #ShareGoodNewsToo

Greece is burning. Spain is burning. Sicily, Wales, Türkiye, Canada, the US— the entire planet is engulfed in flames. Decades of warnings ignored. Decades of corporate denial exposed. The science was right all along: our home is on fire. We need immediate, radical climate action.

So the null is uninterpretable as a test of clean air: it cannot distinguish "clean air delivery doesn't reduce transmission" from "no meaningful clean air was delivered." With a CI of 0.64–1.33, the effect a 1-eACH increment could plausibly produce was never resolvable in the first place. 2/

It’s deadly serious. Deadly. Engineers and occupational hygienists are the ones who should be running this kind of study. And they don’t need to because the science is long settled: cleaning the air properly dramatically reduces transmission risk of airborne disease.

The survey has 100+ unique emergency room narrative responses already! But we're aiming for 150 before we close. If you have a diagnosis of #MECFS or #LongCOVID and have been to the emergency room in the past 10 yrs for your symptoms, I hope you'll take the survey. And if you don't, please share!

Are you someone with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome #MECFS or #LongCOVID who’s been to the emergency room at least once over the past 10 years for your symptoms? Clinical care needs your voice! Take the Emergency Department research survey: surveys.mayoclinic.org/jfe/form/SV_...

It’s not enough to only invest in treating the symptoms of climate change (eg wildfire fighting). We need to address the root causes. We can do this AND create good-paying jobs by building a renewable-powered economy. It’s time for a Green New Deal: lewisisleader.ca/ideas/green-...

'Just stop burning fossil fuels.' Scientists stress that our smoky skies only have one true fix | CBC News

Smoky skies in Toronto have led to new scrutiny of government efforts to fight fires and manage forests. But scientists say the realistic way to tackle the smoke is fighting climate change itself.
