A hipster dude with a mullet came to wait at my bus stop and the whole time we stood next to each other we were engaged in a psychic battle for Juiciest Mullet. (Pretty sure he didn't know it was happening.) (I won, though).
Found a beetle in my hair this afternoon so I think I have to burn down my whole body just to be sure.

yes we are gatekeeping how people get dopamine. We have done this since society began. For instance, we arrested John Wayne Gacy for chasing dopamine his preferred way
So now we are gatekeeping how one obtains dopamine? The big takeaway from posts like yours and the rest comes down to: Questioning his claim because it is not your experience, so therefore something is amiss.
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

Suggesting that a woman university professor who is the author of a best-selling translation should have been “kinder” or “more professional” to a male director who has had multiple successful films is both misogyny and willfully ignorant of power dynamics
You know how when you're a kid you sometimes stumble upon things that, for one reason or another, imprint themselves upon your brain? This poem, alongside this very illustration (courtesy of the Childcraft How and Why Library), is one of mine.

It is supremely excellent to both be a wife and have a wife. Highly recommend.
Everyone being very normal on God's green internet today.

Can everyone just fucking grow up about Harry Potter, please? They are not good books, they were not good movies, it won't be a good television series, and the author is a literal cartoon supervillain using her money to make trans people's lives worse. It's 2026. Get a fucking personality.
I showed my sister the film version of Rent when she was little, long before she was out as trans. She was fascinated by the scene in the support group where Angel takes off her wig. "Angel just changed her gender," I remember her saying. Her eyes were huge. "How did she DO that?" God, I miss her.
Saying it again: Any "Human Authored" self-certification honesty scheme is bound to fail, because people who use the slop generator to "write books" are by definition dishonest.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...
