Looking for beauty in materials and ideas of meaning
Malarkey Books sent me a sticker, three poetry chapbooks, and a fiction chapbook after I responded to a post where they gave away a returned copy of The Walls Are Closing in on Us by Joshua Trent Brown. The sticker is great, and so are the poetry chapbooks. You should support Malarkey Books.
Ordering 500 stickers using a design @johnchrostek.com made a couple years ago that I never got around to using. But sticker guy has the colors for it again so here we go!
These are spectacular pictures, considering they come from another planet.
I'm tired of being angry about AI, so everyone say Happy Birthday to the Curiosity Rover 💗 14 years of Mars science!

If you can then go see the total eclipse (& the one the year after). Don’t settle for 99%. Totality is…stunning. It was a life-must for me and still totally worth it in retrospect.
This is true. It is cheaper to keep an EV on the road than a gas car. There are less moving parts. Electric motors require very little maintenance. This does not count the savings from fuel. Also, it is fun and funny to drive an EV into a gas station to wash the windshield and drive away.
people really sleep on the must lower cost of ownership piece. yeah most EVs are pretty expensive to buy but the savings is thousands per year
I am more and more aware that there is something so deep about creativity that some of us will pursue it at all costs, while entire industries will spend billions to fake it.
Reading the conclusion to "Immediacy, or The Style of Too Late Capitalism" by @annakornbluh.bsky.social and I am reminded of Jack Dollhausen, who said that a goal of his work was to prevent the occurrence of the infinite signal-to-noise ratio made possible by digital data tranmission.
Every time my representative in congress says "bipartisan" I look forward to having a different representative in congress. The Republican party is not a partner with which one can work in good faith.
Affordable housing continues to be the No. 1 issue facing CA-19. That’s why Congress must pass bipartisan solutions, including my More Homes on the Market Act and First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Act. I will continue to work across the aisle to ensure all our neighbors can afford to call CA-19 home.
The Palm Pilot is the worst device I've ever tried to use. The '+' end of the AAA battery fit against the spring. It was just wrong on every level.
My understanding is that imax theaters either need a palm pilot or an emulator because some of the controls were written for palm pilot for some reason

Kids today have lost the fine art of bullshitting a 10 page paper from a single Funk & Wagnalls entry or from reading only the CliffsNotes. 🤣
I will die mad about the 2000 election.
Test tiles that make me wonder why make anything else
This is a great example of the way violent movies with anti-violent pretentions traffic in violence and are in fact pro-violence. Almost every anti-war coded war movie is in fact a celebration of war.
Which Murch connects to Coppola sneaking into a Times Square theater early in The Godfather's run and being 'profoundly shaken' by the climactic assassinations being greeted with hearty, unironically bloodthirsty cheers
I will be showing some work on June 26 in Atascadero, California. I will also be teaching a workshop on August first and second at the same location.
I recommend a reading of Second Hand Time by Svetlana Alexievitch. I started it on election night 2024 and it helped me get through 2025.
I worry about the people we’ll have to become to get through this mess and mourn the people we could have been.
