Not only are the murderers of Renee Good and Alex Pretti still walking free, but they're still working and getting paid by DHS while the Trump administration covers up their crimes. Renee Good's killer also reportedly illegally received $750k from GoFundMe www.gofundme.com/f/support-ic...

Hey friends, if you have taught MAGICAL/REALISM in your classes, or if as a student, it has been assigned to you, could you let me know your university or school? It would be hugely, tremendously helpful. Thank you so much!

"Losing sight of the importance of hemispheric discourses in the break from empire, however, risks overstating the status of the nation-state system as a necessary outcome of the American revolutionary period."

I wrote a short article for @myhnn.bsky.social analyzing the hemispheric histories behind Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime shown. I show that hemispheric discourses have long been used to combat the politics of empire. Link below! www.hnn.us/article/the-...

Farm workers. The fields on the field. The legacies of slavery and colonialism—the sugar cane plantation, labor power, power crisis—despite it all, the future reaches through the tv to the past to make our postcolonial present. The people of the Americas live on: seguimos aquí.

Not sure what you mean by theories, but there is very little knowledge production on Latine racial identity. Latines are taught to assimilate as part of an ongoing colonial project to empty the land of indigenous people, artificially inflate white majorities, and fight communism in Latin America

I want to start a press that sells $5 mass market paperbacks, with introductions by contemporary figures. Not a boutique press because reading is not a luxury. We’ll need to be subsidized to keep the price point, but we can’t let mass market pbs die to $50 hardbacks and Anna’s Archive 💔

There are few poets I trust more who can capture the constant present of the shattered colonial real, the specter of the past, the looping nature of un-time, unreality, that is forced into a procession line of exit and erasure, than Chaun Webster. lithub.com/letter-from-...

While independent bookstores are giving out free whistles, hosting protest sign making events, and donating proceeds to mutual aid, Amazon is *checks notes* providing technology that assists ICE in their terrorizing of communities. Independent bookstores deserve your support. Amazon does not.

Most people do not grasp how warped our reality is that ICE even exists. Immigration and Naturalization Service, formerly INS, was a CIVIC agency—part of the Department of Labor. Racism and xenophobia alone militarized it under George W Bush following 9/11. This cannot be reformed. ABOLISH ICE NOW
