Campaign email for Ottawa mayor @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social accuses competitor @jleiper.bsky.social of wanting to “force you out of your car and onto your bicycle”. What dirty, dishonest language for a city that (like most on this continent) overwhelmingly prioritizes cars above every other mode.

To appease wealthy residents, The City of Ottawa is spending millions of dollars trying to block the redevelopment of this golf course in Kanata. Compared even to one of the lowest income parts of the city, Kanata Lakes pays very little in property taxes. The city can't afford this.
why don't more cities just build random floating orbs? why are we spending so much time and money on "glass towers" and "railways"? where are all the fucking orbs? #Urbanism
