In some ways a Democratic Party that told its trans constituents "we will honor your memory and make your sacrifices mean something" would be more honest.

If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.
Politicians and pundits giving up human rights of some "in order to win" is like players scoring on their own goal "in order to win." Yes, you're scoring. You've also forgotten the game, and why you're playing, and what winning even is, and you have to be benched in favor of people who remember.

If you’re going to support democrats who oppose transgender humanity the entire thing isn’t worth fighting for. The line must be drawn.

We have 3x as many traffic fatalities as homicides, because zero traffic enforcement creates a culture where drivers believe they can do whatever they want until they kill someone.
Maybe the way to stop these detention centers is to enlist the local high school bands to start marching around them …

I know this is divisive and unpopular with those all-important centrist white suburban voters, but don't think it makes us safer to spend half our civic budget on a murder gang.
molly conger@socialistdogmom.bsky.social · 3w agomost murders are committed by someone the victim knows - a partner, neighbor etc. but in cases where there is no relationship between murderer & victim? the killer is a cop about a third of the time. if you are killed by a stranger, there is a 1 in 3 chance that stranger is a cop.
To Democrats and their eulogies: If you say that democracy is under attack by the Republican Party—and it is—and you say that the Republican Party represents an authoritarian threat—and it does—then civility and comity have already been murdered, and shows of comity are utterly incoherent.

Hillary Scholten spoke of a man "being kept in a freezing room where he couldn’t feel his toes."
