While the intent of this set of AI edits was presumably to muddy the waters regarding the stolen dog photo, it should be noted that @rsouissivibes.bsky.social posts AI-altered images on a regular basis, and it is therefore unsurprising he would incorporate them into attempts at deception as well.
Using stolen and altered images to mislead is a popular technique for deceiving people online. Here's a case study of a Bluesky user's attempt to pass off someone else's dog photo as his own, and subsequent attempts to muddy the waters with AI-generated images when the plagiarism was pointed out.
