Reminder that Carney has cut funding for Natural Resources Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Indigenous and Northern Affairs, and Indigenous Services. And he has rolled back climate protections, abandoned emissions targets, and is building more pipelines.

Carney:

"The wildfire situation has escalated significantly over the last three weeks across the country, and particularly in Northwestern Ontario.

Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate their communities, not knowing if their homes will survive.

On behalf of Canadians, I want to thank the brave firefighters, first responders, Indigenous and local leaders who are working tirelessly to keep people safe.

Our government is in close contact with provincial, municipal, and Indigenous partners and stands ready to provide any additional support as needed."

never fucking forget that our tomato of a premier slashed tens of millions from our forest firefighting and emergency preparedness budget so now yea we’re surrounded by toxic air and whole communities are burning down

I hope that when Liberal MPs who claim to care about climate change wake up coughing on smoke from a climate-fueled wildfire that is devastating First Nations communities in northern Ontario, they ask themselves: Do we really want to buy oil CEOs another pipeline? www.aptnnews.ca/national-new...

It's kinda crazy how all world leaders seem to have just decided to give up on fighting the climate crisis and let the poor and middle class burn/drown/starve or whatever while they race to see who can make the most profit off that dystopia for the next decade or so

Even before Carney, for every dollar Canada invested in renewable energy, we spent $19 on expanding fossil fuels. Now we've abandoned any climate action beyond the most dishonest lip service, fully devoted to maximizing climate warming at top speed. environmentaldefence.ca/2026/07/09/n...

Canadians haven’t abandoned climate. Their government has. PM Carney has dismantled Canada’s climate progress, but new polling from Abacus Data shows that the majority of Canadians — over 60 per cent — don’t think PM Carney is taking the climate crisis seriously enough.

Re-upping this story this morning. A landmark Superior Court case in Kitchener recognized the Charter Rights of homeless people. Doug Ford has threatened to reverse that. I spoke to the people impacted the most by this, the encampment residents. Please read and share this one widely.

If a judge who's ex-military can recognize that homeless people have rights, why not Ontario's premier? What Doug Ford should know about encampment residents: pressprogress.ca/doug-ford-ki...

It’s as if your neighbour decided they'd like to buy your house & then demanded the police evict you. Trying to get pre-approval for a pipeline from MPO without an actual route is an insult to folks who live in the region & to Indigenous rights-holders everywhere financialpost.com/commodities/...

This seems pretty loaded framing.. "Would you support changes to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport? This could include optimizing airport infrastructure ... allowing for different aircraft types, generating economic development and job creation, improving connectivity, increasing passenger flow"

“Public consultation” on Billy Bishop expansion. These survey questions suggest to me that this is a done deal. tc.canada.ca/en/corporate...
