What makes amendment 5's historic defeat is that it wasn't a spur of the moment idea by legislators. This was like two decades of work that then got voted down by a historic margin.

I knocked a couple hundred doors, more importantly the volunteers I work with knocked over 2000 doors. And we brought home a resounding victory. Everyone who knocked a door or made a call to defeat 4 and 5, great work.
My 4 year old is currently obsessed with all things Super Mario, including a) the Switch version of the SNES version of the original 8bit game, and b) the DIC cartoons from the early 90s. One episode was entirely about Bowser kidnapping Milli Vanilli. Pop culture time is so fucking weird anymore.
One TA today. Let’s see what happens with the second one.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough
I have had a... trying year or so at work, so it was really nice to have a colleague text me out of the blue to say "Dude, your members love you."
I couldn't find a version of the bible in the translation style that I wanted, so I asked "Claude Opus 5" to create one to my specifications, and long story short but it seems as though I'm being excommunicated

you know what else would have fucked up these kids' lives? several of their teachers dying from a preventable illness and the inevitable grief and trauma that would stem from those losses.
There are working class and vulnerable kids who will never have the life they should have had because of school closures. Let’s address that too, shall we?

16 years ago, I published this essay in @ktbuddhamag.bsky.social about the transition between being a Pagan child and becoming a Pagan adult. It was one of the pieces that helped me realize who I am as a writer, and, for that matter, as a Witch. killingthebuddha.com/mag/confessi...

Mount Nittany workers are back to work this morning after an energetic 5-day strike, where nearly 1000 workers in the wall-to-wall union walked off the job to fight for fair wages and better working conditions. Negotiations are scheduled to continue this following week. (Press release in thread)
NEW, from me: Today, nearly 1000 workers at Mount Nittany Medical Center in central PA have walked off the job on a 5-day strike. The nearly wall-to-wall union (somewhat rare in healthcare these days) has been in the midst of negotiations for months. Their contract expired July 1.
