Re-evaluating calls specifically because there was a meaningful result seems appropriate on the surface, but it creates inconsistency by its very nature. That Egypt foul is a perfect example of something that’s not a call all game *until* it results in something meaningful, THEN it gets called
Darin@settingthetable.bsky.social · 4w agoThe thing with VAR is that you could use it every 20-30 seconds to adjudicate a foul. There has to be some guidelines on when it’s used and when it’s not. Why have a center ref otherwise? Right call, but the application is inconsistent match to match.
