As a former academic who did in depth narrative analysis (think spreadsheets of propositional phrase usage), the methodology of this study doesn't seem robust enough to level this kind of accusation against Daggermouth. Pangram itself is an AI-tool. Where is the human academic contribution here?

A screenshot excerpt of The Atlantic article titled "Is This What Comes After AI Slop?" which reads: "In a new study, researchers randomly selected more than 14,000 Kindle ebooks and ran them through Pangram, an AI-detection tool. One in five came back as more than 25 percent Al-written; Daggermouth returned 60 percent, according to an underlying data set that the authors shared with me."

Is This What Comes After AI Slop? Daggermouth could be the first best-selling novel partly written by a chatbot.

I'm torn between 1. Morgan Freeman: the Shawshank treatment, no matter how dumb I'm being he'll make it sound profound, everything sounds better in a baritone 2. David Attenborough: there is something fundamentally funny to me about my life being narrated like a nature documentary

You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

Scotland's facing a wave of hyper-scale data centre applications. If built they'd consume more than 1.5 times our peak electricity use, with no requirement to assess their environmental impact. We need to ensure our economy works for everyone, not just tech billionaires. ➡️ greens.scot/datacentres

"In [Sam's] lap lay Frodo’s head, drowned deep in sleep; upon his white forehead lay one of Sam’s brown hands, and the other lay softly upon his master’s breast.” (The Two Towers) Oh look, Tolkien was 'woke' before this guy was even born

Bianca Michelle Parker@bumblebigirl.bsky.social · 3w ago

Feels bad that a director of a major studio film is perfectly comfortable saying that casting non-white actors is just something you do to look woke and otherwise isn't remotely necessary
