Rebranding these dudes as The Diarrhea Lettuce Company and digging in to their other crimes is honestly the best thing to come out of an otherwise horrible outbreak. Fuck Taylor Farms. Do not buy their slavery diarrhea lettuce from any venue.
Chad Loder@chadloder.dev · 4d agoThe diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

It's possible I hate these people who put someone's work into an AI checker and then declare it was written by AI more than I hate AI itself. These tools don't work, and it just lets these losers get the thrill of trying to start a pile-on with their equally loser admirers.

Honestly I am crushed by the news of that big cancelled book deal for a debut author. No matter how you interpret that story or what the facts turn out to be, the upshot is that writing as a professional/aesthetic way of life is over. And that makes me so sad that I don’t even want to pontificate.
Can confirm, my monthly earnings have been wildly unpredictable for a number of reasons recently, but I suspect this is a contributor. If you signed up on the iOS app, I’d encourage you to do it on a desktop browser instead.

They also hold the proceeds of iOS app sales for 75 days, making it impossible for creators to accurately predict earnings. They basically inserted themselves in order to rip *more* people off

I had to go into "my news" on the BBC app, and even in the LGBT+ section of that, it's the second article and says "thousands" not 150,000. If it was ten TERFs it'd be top of the headlines on the front page of every news app, and we all know it.

I saw the Odyssey. Honestly the first movie since Sinners that I would call great, or mandatory viewing. It was so well done that I actually forgave casting Matt Damon as Odysseus. (He looked good enough without his shirt that I could believe he was a badass Dad/aging superhero.)
