It's amazing how the convo about public safety, the police never have to produce any evidence of efficacy, on any particular level, and folks who irrationally scream for more police, despite police lack of proving, those voices get elevated when we need a rational convo the most.
Friends, it would be so much easier if we lived in a society where we ensured everyone had a baseline of needs met and used progressive taxation instead of any cumbersome “means” or “only the deserving” tests that come up in our scarcity-model & bigoted fever dreams.
The Senate only exists to protect and prop up slave states - it's time to let it go. #abolishthesenate So many bad actors. So many people holding on to power, so little value to the American people, and a sense that they should be honored in death even when they're terrible people.
