🛠️ BCG highlights the growing impact of user-generated content and creator economies, noting that around 40% of gamers are consuming more UGC than last year. While many gamers consume UGC, only about 10–15% say they’ve created content themselves.

📱 Mobile continues to play a central role as BCG notes that mobile in-app purchases are projected to generate about $130 billion in 2025, representing roughly 37% of global gaming revenue. Strong live updates and engagement patterns on mobile still influence design thinking across platforms.

🧭 Industry planning looks more careful as we move deeper into 2026. Studios are managing costs more closely and placing more weight on long-term support and live systems. BCG notes this shift in tone after years of contraction and lower confidence!

🔁 Platform convergence remains a key theme in 2026 as players increasingly expect shared progression and social continuity across devices. Cloud gaming is helping make that normal. Around 60% of players surveyed by BCG say they’ve tried cloud gaming, and 80% of those had a positive experience.

🌱 BCG projects global gaming revenue will grow about 6% from 2026 to 2030, with total industry revenues reaching around $350 billion by 2030! Growth is coming back with a focus on keeping players engaged over time rather than relying on only big launch moments.

🥳 As we begin the new year, you may wonder where the gaming industry is headed next! 🥳 Here, we’ll be looking at this year's industry outlook using insights from BCG's 2026 video gaming report, which analyzes platform shifts, player engagement, creator participation, and evolving business models!

Happy Holidays! DID YOU KNOW, according to Arnold Pompos of Purdue University, for Santa to give 800 million children their presents, he would have to fly a total of 160 million km, which would be around 4.7 million km/h given his time crunch? I guess that's why they call it santa's SLAY! 🎅
