The idea that Israel or the UAE can impose a post ideological order onto the Middle East on our behalf has always been silly since the US itself has failed at doing this too. Why would two statelets which we subsidize fare any better?
#StupidSuez@diplomatofnight.com · 2d agoThis is a great piece from Stephen M Walt which lays out why Israel can't be a true hegemon, the main reasons being that hegemony that is reliant upon external support isn't real and also there is no regional buy-in to a Pax Israelica. Same reasons apply to the UAE.

Finally Hunter Biden gets interviewed by somebody actually asking him questions rather than just letting him ramble and he comes off like the smug incompetent that he is. The idea that his father acted in “good faith“ or it required “retrospect” to realize his Gaza policy was wrong is absurd.
