You know who we need most when companies overreach and desperately need reminding of their place? People who are already spending their cash on said company. I would love to start a Cancel Your Nitro Membership and Pass Along the Sentiment train. Just cancelled mine. Join me ✨ 🌹

Discord is going to reintroduce Global Age Verification, which restricts teen accounts.
Teens will face several limitations:
- Blocked access to NSFW channels and servers
- Sensitive media automatically blurred in chats and direct messages
- Mandatory message requests for incoming texts
- Restricted speaking access in Stage Channels
To lift these restrictions, unverified adults can confirm their age via one of the following options:
- Credit Card checks via k-ID x Stripe
- Official ID through k-ID
- Selfie
- Google Wallet

This also very much so includes the lower tier and one-time purchases Cancel any level of membership and I will bless you with 10 years worth of joy compressed into a single gif

AI boosters writing sci-fi fan fiction about the terrible things their beloved technology could do in an imagined future is a convenient way to distract from the very real harms the tech is causing in reality now, and the author here has swallowed their framing hook, line and sinker.

Also it's worth noting that for people to have enough prompts and reprompts to do any of this requires a ludicrous number of tokens, the likes of which are only available TO OpenAI and their ilk. Sure, you can mildly annoy a website doing this, it'll just cost you 3 million dollars.

If Shopify ran a fuzzing or DDOS attack directly from their offices to PayPal, they would be rightly prosecuted(though I'm sure just wrist slapped given the Canadian gov'ts fondness for corpos). AI is doing what we all said it would be used for: oligarchs offloading responsibility for their actions

A "rogue agent" didn't hack huggingface. OpenAI did. Criminally. On purpose. For publicity and for news agencies run by people who don't know better hype up technology that's so much stupider than they are advertised as being.

The AI companies love it when people believe this. The "rogue agents" are cyclical scripts that just reprompt themselves in an environment that's poorly secured enough that a scraped method from stackexchange archives lets it run curl remotely. Call it what it is: publicity+corpo illegal behaviour

The Borg is here. You will assimilate "the agents exchanged more than 70,000 messages and delegated jobs as they worked toward their goal, and some even "sacrificed" themselves for the good of the collective. " #Cdnpoli #Uspoli www.cbc.ca/news/world/o...
