Also it's worth noting that for people to have enough prompts and reprompts to do any of this requires a ludicrous number of tokens, the likes of which are only available TO OpenAI and their ilk. Sure, you can mildly annoy a website doing this, it'll just cost you 3 million dollars.

If Shopify ran a fuzzing or DDOS attack directly from their offices to PayPal, they would be rightly prosecuted(though I'm sure just wrist slapped given the Canadian gov'ts fondness for corpos). AI is doing what we all said it would be used for: oligarchs offloading responsibility for their actions

The AI companies love it when people believe this. The "rogue agents" are cyclical scripts that just reprompt themselves in an environment that's poorly secured enough that a scraped method from stackexchange archives lets it run curl remotely. Call it what it is: publicity+corpo illegal behaviour
