a lot of chutzpah for a restaurant that opened THIS YEAR to claim that they need to have a 3% service charge due to increased costs associated with I-82 like....did you not research current minimum wage when you first set your menu prices [checks notes] two months ago?
@ezracycle.bsky.social
Transportation without representation. The joys and pains of biking in DC and beyond. All skeets are my own and do not represent the views any campaign, office, or organization!
Home rule is all or nothing -- either you believe that the people of DC should be allowed to make our own laws, or you don't. If you run to the GOP congress to get them to undo our laws, you do not stand with the people of DC. #DeleteDoorDash
In a letter to the D.C. Council, Door Dash says its recent advocacy for a House GOP bill that restricts D.C.'s ability to determine taxes and fees reflected its opposition to a new 20-cent delivery tax in D.C., "not D.C.'s broader ability to... govern autonomously."
still pretty mad at @mayorbowser.dc.gov and DDOT Director Kershbaum for being so eager to make streateries all but illegal. It was a very bad decision that is making our neighborhoods actively worse places to live and visit.
The Purple Patch streatery, the last one remaining on Mount Pleasant Street, is coming down. The new DC rules and fees have just about wiped out expanded outdoor dining across Ward 1. www.popville.com/2026/07/purp...
He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislatures.
my proposal for RFK stadium transit: Everyone who wants to drive simply goes to a large offsite parking lot somewhere near, let's say, landover MD. They can tailgate there if they want to. Then a series of shuttle buses takes them to RFK for the game, and back to their cars afterwards!
D.C. is putting $300 million towards expanding the Stadium Armory station, which Clarke says is needed. But he adds, "There isn’t a lot of time. August 2030 is around the corner for us." Work will have to be done as regular service continues as the station.
It's impossible for me to escape the conclusion that if, for some reason, donald trump decided to cancel student debt in the exact way that joe biden did, the Supreme Court would absolutely find a justification to allow him to do it
This is great news, it will make DC elections more fair and democratic, and it codifies the overwhelming support for I-83 from voters two years ago. Thanks to all the Councilmembers who voted in support of opening DC primaries to independent voters!
And this has officially passed! Primaries will be open to independent voters starting in 2028. Mendo and Felder vote no, Crawford and and Trayon White vote present.
Congrats to @aparnafordc.bsky.social on winning the Ward 1 Council nomination! I'm proud of what we accomplished on Miguel's campaign, and I wish Aparna the best of luck when she takes over the Ward 1 seat next January.
I just called @aparnafordc.bsky.social to congratulate her & to make plans to put our heads together on pressing priorities for our ward! We both know that DC gov needs to show up better for Ward 1. I’m so proud to have championed our neighbors in this race & to finally see RCV in action! 🩵

i feel like at this point, rather than actually fix and clean the reflecting pool to "american flag blue", trump will just demand that congress change the flag itself to be red, white, and algeal green
It is my sincere hope that Mayor Lewis George brings back the plans for Connecticut Avenue bike lanes on Day 1. No time to lose.
i suppose it's a minor point, but in a race with 14 candidates where you get to vote for 7 and the top 7 people win, and there are two slates of aligned candidates and the slates have names, this seems like a particularly unhelpful way to present the results
Happy election day, DC!! This campaign season feels like it was about two years long, so congrats to all the candidates, staff, and volunteers on making it to the end of a long, long race.
so we need to close the reflecting pool for three months and spend over $14,000,000 and all we get is that it stays clean for a WEEK ? www.nytimes.com/2026/06/15/c...
Trump Ordered ‘American Flag Blue’ for the Reflecting Pool. It’s Green Again.

Sunday! Fun day! ☀️ Out here at Prince Hall greeting voters to tell them about my friend, Miguel Trindade Deramo, who is running for the #Ward1 DC Council seat. Check him out! @miguelward1.bsky.social
Let the record reflect that I was 2/3 correct with my prediction
By the way my prediction is that they will take his name down from the Kennedy Center in the dead of night, a few days early, and behind scaffolding -- all to try to minimize embarrassing photos and video.
this is the most exciting drama staged at the kennedy center in years
Amazing momentum from @miguelward1.bsky.social leading into the final few days before the election!
Final May-June Ward 1 fundraising report: Miguel: $5,285 ($5035 DC)!! Rashida: $2,527 ($1957 DC) Aparna: $1,065 ($849 DC) Jackie: $820 ($320 DC) Terry: $450 ($225 DC) That’s what I call running through the finish line!
step 1, we elect @elissasilverman.bsky.social next week and to a full term in november step 2, we figure out what regulations these sketchy as hell sports betting conglomerates are spending millions of dollars in dark money to generate this AI slop to try to prevent, and we enact them into law
I'm nominating this AI slop for worst mailer of #DCision26. Is there any competition? The fact that it comes from American Future, a sports betting PAC, should be factored in when evaluating its badness. #DCElections
@dc.baddrivers.lol is the illegal plate cover on WA:CDU2557 actually working to prevent the car from getting tickets?
If you're wondering who Ward 1's local neighborhood leaders are supporting for DC Council, it's @miguelward1.bsky.social
ANC game recognizes ANC game! Eighteen Ward 1 ANC Commissioners have endorsed Miguel for DC Council - join them in ranking Miguel #1 by June 16th!
Still deciding how to vote? I get it. You have a lot of great choices here in Ward 1 — and this year, you get to rank them! Here’s why I hope to earn your #1 vote! Head to my website for more information: miguelward1.com/voting-info

I recently let my @bikeshare.bsky.social lapse and this odd sentence was in the email they sent me asking to renew. I don't think either claim in it is true. I've never once seen Bikeshare or Lyft advocate for a bike lane project in DC

I’m honored to have the endorsement of DC’s shadow senator, and my friend, Ankit Jain!
