Explain it to me why, of all the delectable boozy beverages in the world, Asda's only alcoholic flavour frozen treat is just a pack of "cider" lollies? Pina Colada and Mojito would have got me more interested.

Screenshot of Asda Cider Falvour Lollies, 6 pack, £1.40. 4 star reviews.

I thought we wouldn't be able to see this because of houses in the way, but I'm standing in my kitchen cooking tea and hubby is using binoculars to project the partial eclipse.

Binoculars projecting two semicircles of light onto a white plate. Eclipse viewing.

Astinished to learn that non-fatal strangulation is, currently, NOT attempted murder 🤔 and obviously this is causing problems in dv justice. Petition: Treat non-fatal strangulation as equivalent offence to attempted murder So close to reaching 10k!! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/75...

You know those moments when your offspring ask a question and you feel the weight of responsibility to explain at length and make sense of the world for them? Well, I've been asked why most people hate Jamie Oliver. Please pitch in 'cos I'm stuck. (FWIW I don't have much truck with hate.)

This is Aquapigeon. S/he is getting their money's worth out of their bird bath membership by sitting in it for hours of every day, for months, now. All this bird needs is a kazoo and it would be a duck.

Blurry long distance shot (sorry) of a pigeon sitting in a stone bird bath. Taken from a first floor window at some distance. Stone patio behind shows signs of raindrops, quite newsworthy. Brown patches on the lawn in the foreground. Astilbe to the right has dead patches, blame the drought.

The DWP are asking for people to contribute evidence for a forthcoming review of Carers Allowance and how it operates. Admittedly this is niche, but please spread the word so it reaches the right people. www.gov.uk/government/c...

Microsoft wants to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. It’ll drain thousands of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's final sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

Stop the Microsoft AI megasite in Leeds!

Storm on Facebook over using RAF Linton on Ouse to house migrants. Some telling objections like "The number of single refugee men will outnumber the villagers". But what I want to know is, did they protest at the number of single RAF men when *they* outnumbered the villagers?

PLEASE SHARE THIS To the young person (longish dark hair, patterned waistcoat, chinos & DM boots) who left this scroll of papers on the Piccadilly Line train at South Kensington station at about 4.25pm today, I’ve handed it to the station staff at Hammersmith.

You can view this post as a distraction from the rest of the timeline if you wish *bows* but I saw CMAT at Scarborough open air theatre on Saturday and she was incredible to hear and to watch and also funny and entertaining. No wonder she has superfans. Audience aged 6 to 86, all raucous 11/10

Stage with CMAT and band, screens either side and standing crowd in front. Trees and sky beyond. CMAT on stage singing with guitar, close up projection on the stage behind. Euro Country logo.A view of Scarborough North Bay in the sun through the bay window of my hotel. Nice light.

Matlock Bath today. Very pretty but I'm confused by the excessive proliferation of fish and chip shops in a place so far from the sea. It's fully 50% of a Cleethorpes [invents new SI unit]

A row of cottages, some white, all old, with flowers in front.A river surrounded by green trees. Footbridge and canoes. A high viewpoint looking down to a green valley and pretty cottages over a metal fence. Path, fence, green fields, hills blue sky, nice clouds.
