I'm furious because, once again, someone thought that this was a good place to dump a house wyvern! Why can't people be responsible and surrender them to a shelter? Just because it says "sky" does not make turbines safe. The blades can cut dragon scale! House wyverns can't even fly that high!

The hovershark pup wails whenever I put it down, or try to put it in my toolbag, like it *knows* it's been found by a soft touch. I swaddle it in my scarf and wedge the soft bundle under my arm, wincing as the pup inefficiently nurses on my palm on the climb down.

I have a very weirdly formatted piece that I would like to submit but it is very dependent on the formatting (italics, bolding, etc) which are stripped out when submitting.

Someone sent me a spam message "Cya soon, ya stunning wildflower you..." and I guess I'm glad that some people are still hand crafting spam instead of using AI.

I received a puzzling rejection saying that they felt the addiction narrative was unclear. I was so confused. I did not think I'd written about addiction. I asked a beta reader and they also did not think I'd written about addiction.

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

I just used the word "synergetic" in a story and I hate it so much. The sacrifices we make for art.

Remembering the time I derailed an entire session I was GMing by describing the silver sparkles of the sun on the water. The players were convinced it was a clue and something was Deeply Wrong about the water. I was just trying to be poetic! They felt that normal sun sparkles on water were gold.

Me: writes glacially slowly, is happy to finish a short story in a month. Also me: why are novellas so short? I can read them in a single sitting.

I'm currently doing research for a short story by reading a bunch of job advertisements. Why do I do this to myself. Why are job ads so painful to read.

Today a ten year old asked me to teach him how to GM. Truly this is the pinnacle of GMing.

Several people have asked me recently why Analog/Asimov's/F&SF/Ellery Queen/Alfred Hitchcock still don't have Submission Grinder listings again, because the communications from SFWA on the subject have been so positive. So I thought it might be worth addressing this briefly.

There are goldfinches at the bird feeder and they are so beautifully yellow.

Abhorsen. Either beautifully animated or live action by the BBC. I think either way the bell ringing would be exquisite.
