Seriously, please don't be too shy or polite to ask for ICE whistles if you need them, especially in SoCal. A bunch of us have stockpiles all ready to go in case of surges, if you have the ability to pass them out, we have the whistles!

This is so depressing. The whole point of fantasy is to dunk on your friends and be dunked on in your turn. This is like card-counting at your buddy's Friday night poker game. Why even participate at that point? You're violating the social contract for absolutely no reason

I don’t think I’m ever going to get the appeal of pivoting to video for podcasts. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 20 years, and never once have I thought, my God, I need to SEE these people! I’m on a walk or doing the dishes, I don’t need video.

Apropos of several things in recent news: If you want to have a confidential conversation via a video conferencing call, you really, REALLY should ban all auto-transcripts and "AI" notetakers. Transcripts are a great tool for non-confidential meetings. (though nobody needs an AI notetaker imho)

Bunch of writers sprinkling Celtic mythology or Greek mythology all over a scifi or fantasy story with NO OTHER ELEMENTS from these cultures or countries, but the moment I say, 'Caribbean,' I have to match a newsreel or your vacation fantasy. The double standard is ridiculous.
This is why I am walking miles for the Young Center this month against my husband. Because babies should never, ever have to face this kind of thing.

Hi! Weird question! (Don't worry, I'm a writer) Is there anyone who can speak Norwegian who can tell me what how the tarot card The Fool is generally written in Norwegian language? I've found a few answers, but most common result seems to be: Narren Can anyone confirm/correct this?
"AI detector" programs like Pangram use the same technology they claim to detect, right? When publishers put submissions thru these, what do people think of that? (these are genuine questions not rhetorical. I am not considering using it for DP, I am thinking about its effect on Grinder listings)
