Just watched a sparrowhawk make an arse of himself taking on three magpies. Magpies were either whatever or chased him off. Persistent blighter, presumably young and learning.

So much hype over a partial eclipse. I noticed the BBC is still forgetting that the last one bigger than this here was in 2003 when the newly risen Sun was a ring. Sadly the moon was too far away to fully cover the Sun and we had an annular eclipse in Northern Scotland.

I worked with Lucille Ball once, just long enough to deliver a script to her house in Beverly Hills (with a giant ‘M’ on the welcome mat, for her husband, Gary Morton - sheesh!) and have her question me about all of the changes. She was the best. And, of course, the godmother of #StarTrek. 🖖

Spent last night on the edge of this reed bed on the Solway Firth. Lots of bird sounds, and watching the curlew commute with the tides was fun. I could hear dogs barking in England.

Coastal reedbed under a cloudy sky. Beyond the reeds is an inlet of the sea with land beyond. There was once a railway bridge near here across the sea to England.
