9 years ago, i realized i wanted to be a clinical psychologist, and thought i could never get into a PhD program. today is my first day as faculty at stanford. i have a lot of online trainings to do, wish me luck 🫡

Whenever recommendation forms ask me to rate an applicant on "self-awareness" I always say "did not observe" on account of being unable to observe other's mental states. Sorry, MIT, even though you've given me a Likert scale, I simply can't tell you if this applicant has higher-order consciousness!
