Your reminder Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids" in The Spectator, but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd" in The Guardian. Abhorrent.

The Greater Manchester mayoral results are in, and they tell a fascinating story. It isn't that Reform is dead and buried. It's that, for maybe the first time, a party that has thrived on an aura of inevitability has been measured against reality - and was found to be not that scary at all.

Have just been discussing with a friend how the sheer volume of far right crap from Reform bots on social media might have inspired a lot of people to return to voting #Labour to ensure that Reform and other fascists didn't win the Manchester election. A big own goal from Putin and Farage

Conservatives got 41,021 votes, meaning that Restore beat them to fourth place by 8.68% to 7.69%. Really astounding stuff. The UK's traditional right party beaten by explicit far-right ethnonationalists in Britain's third largest city. Views once considered unacceptable & unthinkable are surging.
