TTRPGs are exhausting because as a field the actual thing worth evaluating (play) requires people who actually play games but the field has a strong preference towards consumers who buy as a form of identity and who are wholly opposed to actually playing games

Having watched military propaganda films from most empires, generically considering trying to do a non-partisan ranking of all of them at least into tiers. Like would probably have to add a sorta balance of "is this a good film (technical)" and "does this relate to the depicted military (historical)

It's that expressive potential especially that has interested me as of late. A more complex mechanical vocabulary gives the designer more tools to play with, and allows them to speak with precision and nuance. And it gives players more opportunities to be expressive.

I think sometimes about the fact that among prominent TERFs one literally published (self-justifying) child exploitation material and another hung out with the man who ran an industrial scale child exploitation ring but saying being a TERF means it is likely they are a 'Piers Anthony Fan'
