Saw the hand physio, she referred me for an ultrasound. If the ligament has moved off to the side, I'll need surgery. FML 🤦🤦🤦
PSA: if you sustain a hand injury, ACC will pay the full cost of physio if you go to a hand physio. Not any physio, specialist hand physio clinics only. My GP told me this on Monday. Since my hand is still swollen & painful, I'm going to WellHand here in Poneke tomorrow.
Urgent!! 👇👇👇 Can someone PLEASE help Brenda's elderly aunt with a broken jaw get from Palmerston North to Hutt Hospital. It is utterly ridiculous and dangerous to suggest she take a bus(!!!!). She needs more than just a lift, please repost and contact Brenda if you can help.
Anyone know an agency in Palmerston North who can help? I don't mean simple transport, she's gonna need some real hand holding to get to this place, while the hospital is probably just gonna reschedule and tell her to sort herself.

Horrifying that this has happened in the same country as the Cartwright inquiry - which wasn’t that long ago. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3610...

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

It’s probably not great when political announcements these days just seem to be bigotry bingo, eh
This is true for so many of us. In 2 weeks I will have had 6 adult teeth extracted in 3 years because that is 1/3 of the cost of a root canal. I wish the government would cover dental care, I know many of us would pay a bit more tax for this to happen.
As most of you know, I lost both my parents to dementia related illness. I've always supported dementia charities because of this, and next month I'm taking part in a fundraiser called Move for Dementia. I'm hoping to raise $500, so any small $ amount is appreciated 😊
Beckie's Dementia Fundraiser in Move for Dementia 2026
Hi there I am trying to fundraise $500 to help Alzheimers New Zealand. I lost both my parents to dementia so this cause is really important to me. Any money you can give (no matter how large or smal...

With highly-pathogenic avian influenza now in NZ, we're taking steps to protect #kakapo and #takahe by vaccinating against the disease, following a successful trial. We're aiming for ~90 kākāpō and 100 takahē in an initial phase to protect the most valuable birds/sites. #conservation #birds
We shouldn't, but this government makes us. I'm exhausted
The Green Party have released their full list of 2026 policies and like previous elections it's very comprehensive, I've only had time for a quick skim read but there's some good stuff in there www.greens.org.nz/policy#polic... Crossposted with @openvibe.social

This government is a wrecking ball when it comes to the environment and climate change. If you're interested, have a read and sign.
Stop the Climate Amendment Bill!
This is important because climate change is the most serious and important issue facing humankind. We have a rapidly closing window of opportunity to prevent catastrophic damage to the natural world ...

Power cut up here and other areas across Wellington, so I'm down at the local takeaways getting fish and chips. Thank goodness they still have power.

I mean the forecast said fog, I didn't get fog, nor a hoar frost - but even on a frozen (-6°C) morning with flat light the (pest) willows reflecting in the dead calm waters of Wairepo Arm, Lake Ruataniwha are still dead impressive. Mackenzie Country, Aotearoa NZ #Nikon #Photography
I went to meet my cousins new baby in the Wellington Hospital NICU unit yesterday. He was born at 26.4 weeks and is now 37 weeks. Even more special was being told I was now Aunty Beckie. I nearly cried.
What does everyone think about the Whittaker's Gum Drop chocolate? I have a sweet tooth and am already an avid fan of the TipTop ice cream, so I love it. But I am hearing mixed reviews...
