I keep reading stories where there’s clearly an attempt at vaguely gesturing towards ‘the Weird’ but they just cant help over-explaining everything. Truly frustrating stuff.
it's actually okay to not even know the answer to stuff yourself. writing a Silmarillion of your world building (whether you're doing epic fantasy or contemporary horror or what) isn't the only avenue to believable consistency haha
