I don't really follow Hank or John Green so when people starting talking about AI and Hank Green I assumed the scandal was that he used AI to write "The Fault In Our Stars" or something.

This is terrible. Veronica and Andy did such wonderful work on Mister Magic earlier this year. It's so awful that healthcare is so expensive in this country, and that artists make so little. I hope Andy gets the treatment he needs AND it doesn't bankrupt him.

Hey, folks. There's a @gofundme.com set up for artist Andy Fish, who is going through a very tough fight with two forms of cancer. He and his wife, cartoonist Veronica Fish (my Blackwood series cohorts) could use some help during this very tough time. I'm donating, hope you can. tinyurl.com/4wa86a6c

Do not click on this racist, homophobic, horrifically misogynist article. Joseph Kahn is trying to edgelord his way into relevance because he can’t make a good movie for shit. Genuinely disgusting that THR felt this was okay to run

Bild

Actually disgusting that nurses were treated like utter shit, overworked and dying during the pandemic and now RFK is on TV telling everyone that didn't happen. I can't even imagine a more thankless, hostile job right now.

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.
Portrait of Andrea González-Ramírez
By Andrea González-Ramírez, a senior writer for The Cut who covers systems of power. Those physicals, Maria explains, are usually perfunctory: “Like, Are you walking normally? Are you lightheaded? I have never had to take any clothes off. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or violated.” If IL26-638 were to pass and Maria were still in school, she says she would likely drop out of her team. (We’re withholding Maria’s real name to protect her privacy.) “I honestly don’t know if I would be able to do these tests,” she adds. “It would also make me question, If I do it, are all my teammates going to too? Or would I just play with the three or four girls who are willing to or have access to do it?”

It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough

Lockdown people are so funny. They pull out their hair at the fact that schools were closed for five minutes, and then you ask them if they actually want to educate poor and minority children and they’re like of course not

The Odyssey scalping situation at AMC Lincoln Square IMAX needs some coverage in the trade press... People going and buying up 10 seats in bulk for multiple dates. Shows with dozens of empty seats because scalpers are trying to resell them for $1000 and can't.

I don’t understand the point of complaining about the inaccuracy of a movie to a source material that’s millennia old. Plenty of other people have adapted it, reinterpreted it, and imagined it. This is Christopher Nolan’s vision of it. Yes I felt the same way about Wuthering Heights.

also while clearly Wilson has devoted more time and talent to the Odyssey than Nolan, Nolan has now devoted more time and talent to it than all but a handful of people in the world; I think a kind of ugly thread running through the conversation is that a filmmaker is necessarily a dilettante and: no

Woke Politics = A Black Woman and Trans Man have a total of ten minutes of screen time? Not Political At All= Lengthy monologues about resource wars destroying the fabric of civilization This is also why the Star Wars Prequels are not woke but the sequels are

hundreds of millions got the COVID vaccine and there were so few problems that the main form of criticism turned into "friend-of-a-friend" hearsay stories, so this guy can't actually cite an actual case but knows his base will think they know people who know people this may have happened to

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · last wk.

Sen. Roger Marshall: "Who didn't have a friend who took this vaccine and had some time of complication? A stroke, a blood clot, a young man getting some type of heart inflammation. That's what destroyed the trust in the American people for our government."

One thing you can see in the latest Stancil blowup is that a sizable share of this website thinks that good intentions are the only thing that matter in policymaking, and expressing skepticism that a policy will really work as intended is equivalent to stealing food from the poor.
