Our rapid disillusionment with political leaders is treated by much of the media as some kind of pathology. But what I see is these leaders backtracking on their promises, dashing people's hopes and serving the ultra-rich ahead of the rest of the population. Why wouldn't we be disillusioned?

For the last few weeks, every time I go running I see at least one new dead bird on my route. Some small mammals, but mostly birds. It's deeply concerning.
I had an ADHD joke but that reminds me, I had this dream earlier where I was trying to drink water and couldn't and jt was SO ANNOYING, but then my friend's dog turned into a faucet but I'm not drinking water from a dog if I have a choice, so when I woke up I was mad about ir and also thirsty, but--

Weren’t the water companies supposed to have ‘investment in infrastructure’ as part of the privatisation process? Instead they’ve squeezed out every bit of profit and left the infrastructure to whither on the vine!
Half of the country is in "exceptionally serious drought" - putting us at more risk of wildfires and threatening our food security. Meanwhile water companies are wasting a staggering 2.87 billion litres of water every day through leaky pipes. Time to end water privatisation.

Hard to overstate how much the Overton window has been allowed to shift on this. “Labour bans trans women from female toilets” would have caused a political earthquake in the party in, say, 2019.
Wes Streeting just gave your address, your ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, if you are cis or trans, if you've ever had an abortion, an addiction, are disabled in anyway and a million other pieces of info about you, to a far right tech company the UK government has no control over.
The reason for the media's antisemitic attacks on Zack Polanski (and all the other nonsense that is being aimed at him) is quite simple. The billionaires who own the media are afraid that the Green Party will tax them fairly and use that money to help build a better society. #VoteGreen

There's a certain category of anti-trans propaganda page I've noticed that's like... They pretend to share lots of tran-positive stuff, but in a way that either cherry picks or takes things out of context to be as stupid and irritating as possible, and farm rage from bigots.

The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever. It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.
